Review of Murderous Maids (2000) by Jennie R — 17 Jun 2011
First of all, the title is a bit misleading. My impression when I sat down to watch this film was that these two maids would plot & scheme to murder their various employers. That is not the case. This is based on a true event.
With that being sad, I found the movie intense. Sylvie Testud gives an outstanding performance. She evokes a tender lovingness while she is slowly falling apart. You are drawn to the strength in her character and yet such a great weakness to her sister.
If you love French films at all, this is one not to miss.
