Review of Murderball (2005) by Brian H — 16 Oct 2008
I was hesitant about watching this because of the MTV aspect to it, but now I'm almost glad it HAD the MTV aspect. It had a very gritty feel to it actually. It was interesting how they focused on USA, and Canada, so when the final game came you were going to be upset for one team but happy for the other one.
Absolutely fascinating characters with perfectly selected and edited interviews. Not your typical tear jerker sports film, but there were some very moving moments. It was really a nice balance between gritty, foul-mouthed players, and genuinely emotional moments.
And the editing moved it along at a break-neck pace.
