Review of Murderball (2005) by Jared M — 24 Oct 2009
It seems the more I enjoy a film the less I have to write about. I think it is because I enjoy expressing my dislike for something. Is that a bad thing? Discuss...
Haha. Anyways, this was a wonderful documentary. It is part after school special detailing the lives of these select men and the tragedies that left them broken physically and mentally, and part sports drama as it follows the US Quad Rugby team as they face their Canadian rivals.
Probably the most heartbreaking moment is watching a man recently disabled due to a motorcross injury as he first comes home after the injury. His reaction to being in a place full of memories of him as an able-bodied young man is hard to watch.
I recommend this to anyone who loves a good story. It is hardly depressing at all. It is mostly inspiring and fun.
