Review of Murder-Set-Pieces (2004) by Rob R — 08 Sep 2009
Like American Psycho but with absolutely no regard for taste or subtext. This is the â??storyâ?? of a German (therefore read Nazi) who likes to explore the topless clubs of Las Vegas, getting the girls to come home with him and then hacking them to pieces, usually fiercely banging them either before, during or after the hacking.
The film is certainly as interested in the fierce banging, if not more so, as the hacking and overall there is a surprising lack of gore compared to the buckets, nay, barrels of blood splashed around.
Itâ??s also surprising that this film is pretty modern, it has the feel of a shitty 70s splatter although I canâ??t recall anything from that era with quite the same abandon. Banned in the UK (bit ott) but if you do end up seeing it, you too with marvel at why the little girl decides to confront him and search out his secret torture/hacking room only to run off and do nothing about it.
