Review of Murder on the Orient Express (2017) by Molenikavil K — 29 Jan 2018

This Orient Express has one of the most spectacular visuals I have seen in a movie. From the costumes to the backdrops and every little detail in between. It also features an exceptional music score that is in the center of the cinematographic melody.

The star-laden cast does what they do best but there's no room to outgrow what they have to deal with character-wise. I have to point out the very poor choice of the actor to portray Hercules Poirot.

I have grown with the books of Agatha Christie and when I close my eyes this is not the man I see. And way too much self-loving towards his persona just magnified this flaw. The movie could have been executed to rival its 1974 original with better approach, fact checking, better knowledge and understanding of Agatha Christie's craftsmanship and the perfect leading man.

The end song titled Never Forget performed by Michelle Pfeiffer herself is an absolute treasure!
