Review of Murder on the Orient Express (2017) by Nadjib R — 12 Feb 2018
Kenneth Branagh as both lead actor and director managed to find a balanced tune to a rather enjoyable film, Murder On The Orient Express doesn't have any dull moments but what it does have is a bunch of intricate sequences that are certainly a joy to watch, however, in its quest to look mysterious the film has its flaws especially with the timing and the story, but that doesn't stop it from being a very well made murder mystery.
Kenneth Branagh accompanied by a star-studded cast served the story so amazingly and it shows through the effortless rendition of their characters, I believe that the perfect harmony between the cast was the key to the story's success.
The camera work was really great, to say the least, the combination of various shooting techniques allows to film to have a suggestive look at things especially the overhead shots in the compartments that urges us to investigate as well.
Having said all of that, Murder On The Orient Express relies heavily on its cast and eventually that gamble pays off nicely because ultimately the film turns out pretty damn great if I may say so.
