Review of Murder on the Orient Express (2017) by Ron C — 11 Nov 2017
Yes, the material is familiar. However, the writing and performances here add soul and humanity to the story as opposed to the cold and stuffy prior versions, including Lumet's version and Sucet's television rendering.
Braunagh and the script bring a warmth and passion to the story that prior versions have buried in British reserve. Photography is glorious, although the special effects are sometimes a little much. A great diversion and fits well on the big screen.
Time well spent.
