Review of Murder on the Orient Express (2017) by Tom G — 11 Nov 2017

I saw this movie a few weeks ago. I didn't write a review then for two reasons. One because I have never written a review on here and the second was because I could not think of a reason why anyone would think this was a bad movie.

I was so appalled by the ratings here that I felt that I needed to write something. Everything about this movie was amazing. The acting was incredible. You could feel the pain that each character felt at the end of the movie.

You could feel Hercules soul being torn in two as he tries to reason with himself about what justice is. The music was perfect for each scene and there has been no film that has been able to capture that 30's and 40's feel.

There was class. People dress elegantly not scandalously. Honestly, this is the first movie in a few YEARS that made me feel that I did not waste a penny on the tickets. I have read other reviews and quite frankly I am not impressed.

People weren't happy with the fact that it moved lowly. It's a murder mystery film. Of course it's going to go slow. What were you expecting? The avengers to arrive to fight the aliens because the aliens were the murders? Or was it that there was no grand political statement made in the film? No black lives matter or green peace message? Was it because there were no pew pews or lightsaber battles? Did the attempt to solve a mystery tax your brain so much that you daydreamed? Whatever your reasons were, none of them were the acting, the screenplay, the music, or the writing.

It was an amazing film. If you're looking for action, go watch a movie where you can't understand what half the characters say (I'm looking at you Star Wars). But if you like film that keeps you in suspense and keeps you guess turn after turn, this is the film for you.
