Agatha Christie was a true mastermind. Her novels are brilliant, packed with many twists, and endings that you can not figure out. However, this movie is a poor reconstruction of the story. While the twists remain, as well as the truely brilliant ending, the film itself lags in part, and Albert Finney is abysmal as the Belgian detective.

David Suchet is the most accurate Poirot, and Peter Ustinov was brilliant (if slightly off-character), but Finney is totally incomprehensible. I'm so glad he couldn't do the next film and they brought Ustinov in instead.

I have seen most Poirot movies many times, but I have never been able to complete a second viewing of this one.
