Review of Murder on the Orient Express (1974) by David C — 04 Jul 2008
Wel I was dissapointed with this movie. I had read sidney lumet's book called Making Movies where in the book he speaks so highly of the job he did in this movie. I was really excited to see the one take in the movie because of the way he built it up but I guess like most times in life the book was better then the movie because the shot did not live up to the hype.
I didn't think much of the performanes, sidney lumet has a nack for bringing out some great preformances from his actors but in this one they can all put you to sleep. ingrid bergman won the academy award for this movie but she was really nothing special.
maybe I might have expected a little to much but when i've seen movie like 12 angry men and network I have to wonder why he spoke highly of this one in the book.
