Review of Murder on the Orient Express (1974) by Ryan Gibbons — 20 Aug 2010
I did not like Agatha Christie's book, I am a big fan of hers but I just found it to be such a bore, just an awkward Belgian sitting around asking people question for hundreds of pages. Albert Finney's portrayal of Poirot was decent but only fairly decent.
At times he seemed to have the presence of a mafia boss rather than that of a detective. I found most of the characters to be quite boring in the film at least in the book it went far enough in depth to their lives.
I will say however that Sean Connery was perfectly cast as Arbuthnot. The acting all together was only passable. Like the film, it was only passable. But likable.
