Review of Murder Mystery 2 (2023) by Gumdrop — 24 Apr 2023

I've had a bit of a love hate relationship with Sandler over the years. Back in the 90s his brand of comedy worked well enough but over the years his man child character wore thin. What I once found funny became amusing and then just grating. But he's still done a few decent movies scattered in there over the years.

The first Murder Mystery wasn't great but it also wasn't terrible. I mean I wouldn't watch it again but it was ok to pass 90 minutes. It's no masterpiece but it's better than most of his other movies.

And Murder Mystery 2 isn't really terrible. It's a "pass the time" movie. Not better or worse than the first. Just more of the same. And that's why it gets the low rating. They took the first script and changed a few details. This is basically the first movie with a different crime and locations. It's lazy.
