Murder in the First (1994) - Kevin Bacon and Christian Slater in the case that broke Alcatraz. Bacon plays the prisoner, who?s near continuous torture at the hands of prison officials turns him into a murderer, and Slater plays the public defender who tries to save him.
I?ve never seen these actors in a movie of this caliber and I was very impressed. The camera work was very good and Kevin Bacon was simply incredible. There?s fascinating insight into Alcatraz at the height of its reputation as a bas-ass prison.
There?s also impressive camera work to compliment the fine acting.
