Review of Murder in the First (1995) by J B — 10 Apr 2007
I found that there was a strong message in this movie that was well delivered. The fact that, at a young age, society treated this individual a harsh blow (the time didn't fit the crime, nor was there a view towards helping the individual - rather punishment was the focus), without empathy to the child's life ahead, dictated his life path.
I think this story is true for many more in our society even today - something that we need to raise the social awareness of in order to help society as a whole.
