An extremely character driven movie, with one of the characters being a building, Alcatraz, whose story is based upon actual events- Although the story takes many liberties with the actual events, this is a powerful and insightful film.
A real inside look into the horrid conditions of Alcatraz. Kevin Bacon gives an Oscar worthy performance. Christian Slater and Gary Oldham are brilliant, too. One of the best films I've ever viewed.
