Review of Murder in the First (1995) by Ned J — 09 Jul 2007
This film is really something - I thought it was amazing, powerfully moving and terribly sad, considering it's based on truth. I'm not a massive fan of Christian Slater, but Kevin Bacon is the real star in this movie - he's incredible as the convict who spends years in solitary confinement for no real reason and who emerges, understandably, as a murderous lunatic; Slater does a good job as his lawyer.
I haven't seen this one in a while, but I remember really thinking it was impressive at the time. Recommended.
