Review of Murder in the First (1995) by Kelly C — 21 Jan 2009
So basing it on a fictional court room thriller I would give it 4 stars. But this film was based on a true story and was executed terribly. So the stars I give it for the true story is a half star.
In the film they made Henri Young out to be a small petty thief, however he was actually in there for killing a man. He was also not in solitary confinement for 3 years. He also never killed himself in prison, he in fact was released in 1972 on parole and then disappeared and no one has seen him since.
So all in all for it being told as a true story it was much more fiction than true.
