Review of Murder by Numbers (2002) by Daniel W — 20 Nov 2008
More like Murder by numbness to the brain. Murder's not the only thing that's by the numbers. Bullock is ridiculously badly cast and is scarcely believable as a brilliant detective. The killers are uninteresting, having most likely bored their victims to death.
But worst of all is the scant regard given to any sort of investigative realism. Everybody knows that you can't go rummaging through peoples bins for evidence, let alone interrogate someone about a murder without a lawyer - the case would be thrown out before you could say "Strap me to an electric chair, just don't make me watch Murder By Numbers.
".
