Review of Murder by Numbers (2002) by Alexandra W — 15 Dec 2010
Dear Hollywood and TV,.
This is a friendly reminder that lady cops don't have to be sluts to be interesting. Sure, there are special circumstances sometimes, such as that time Ashley Judd was in that movie in which the plot revolved around her lady cop character's profound sluttiness (not to mention alcoholism). But that's the exception rather than the rule. Mostly, I just want a lady cop who's going to have a handful of morals and not some melodramatic back story that makes her jump into bed with her all her partners.
Yours Truly,.
AW.
PS Not only is the lady cop in this movie slutty and stupid, she is completely unnecessary: The whole cop storyline is uninspired, forced, and boring. The intriguing part of the plot is the relationship between the murderers. So good job wasting Sandra Bullock in another trashy, snooze-inducing role in another messy, half-hearted film.
