Review of Muppets Most Wanted (2014) by Patrick G — 12 Dec 2014
Oddly enough, Muppets Most Wanted starts off with a musical number that mentions how sequels are rarely as good, and by the time the credits roll, they're right. Muppets Most Wanted is good, don't get me wrong, but it never reaches the level the first one hit.
This film picks up right after the first one and has the Muppets go on a European tour, which ends up being a front for heists. The Muppet cast is a great as ever, but oddly enough, the newest member who we were introduced to last time, Walter, is rarely in the film.
The cast is padded out with the usual cameos, but they don't seem to have the same oomph as the last time, with the exception of a cameo at the end. The new music also doesn't seem as memorable, but that isn't to say it's bad.
Overall, the film is good, but it pales in comparison to the original.
