Review of Muppets from Space (1999) by Robert T — 24 Dec 2007
A different approach to the Muppet franchise, and the final result? One of the worst Muppet films that had ever been released. The cameos from random celebrities was a little mediocre, moreover, most of them can't even act.
As a matter of fact, none of the human cast could act, and especially the main MIB Agent. The music choices were a little awkward, as well. I don't get it why they kept using old Motown music for all the Muppet scenes, and original scores for the human scenes.
I don't blame the Muppets for this disaster, but the corporate film company who rather prefer profit over Jim Hensen's traditional ideas of the Muppet as a franchise to sell not just for young kids, but people of all ages.
The screenplay was really cheap, though there were some funny gags, it was not enough to bring the film back. Overall, best if you avoid this film at all cost.
