Review of Munich (2005) by Peter H — 25 May 2011
Not quite what I expected. I wanted more raw and visceral emotion. What is portrayed here is more a series of calculated, and yet often bungled killings. I just didn't connect enough emotionally to the film; I wanted the assassins to become unglued at the seams with rage and just let loose.
But they never really did. On the other hand, Bana gave a good performance, especially in a certain phone conversation with his young child. That was quite effective. In the end though, I didn't really even sympathize with him at all, and he just wasn't really a compelling or interesting character to me.
