Review of Munich (2005) by Matthew K — 10 Jul 2010
Serious Spielberg in the vein of Shindlers List, following a group of Israeli agents on a mission of revenge in the wake of the Munich Olympic massacre. A strong cast led by Eric Bana grounds the history with a human centre, while the morality of events is left open for the audience to make up its own mind;the differences between terrorism and counter terrorism are made controversially small.
Overall this is a brave, visually striking and mature work from Spielberg.
