Review of Munich (2005) by Tyler S — 13 Jul 2014
A powerful film that took my emotions in many different directions. As with most Spielberg films the suspense and set peices are blended together perfectly. The story based on a real life operation taken against the 11 Palestinians who participated in the Munich assassinations on the Israeli athletes.
It tracks a ghost team of 5 men sent to hunt down and kill all 11. We see the men and how the killing takes a toll, the suspense of the bombs that go off, suspense of who to trust. While it was a great film and the premise made you want to follow it strictly there still was something missing.
I have yet to figure out what it was but something was. I thought Bana was brilliant as the team leader. Daniel Craig is excellent here too. The end is intense, as our the flashbacks. Overall a pretty good thrill ride.
