Review of Mum & Dad (2008) by Elma M — 18 Mar 2009
A gruesome and effective low budget British horror. This is effectively "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" transplanted to a suburban semi under the Heathrow flight path, where a twisted "family" prey upon immigrant workers at the nearby airport.
The British seem to be leading the way for horror at the moment, trading in genuine shocks and imaginative ideas rather than relying on CGI and expensive special effects - "Eden Lake", for example.
Not for the faint hearted but if you like this kind of thing, then check it out.
