Review of Mulholland Dr. (1999) by Ian M — 25 May 2014
Soooo. That was Mulholland Drive. Huh. It doesn't cause THAT much anger in me like Passion Of the Christ, which is a good thing. I don't have much to say about this experience that's what it is an experience.
Let's try to understand what this experience is about. Betty (Naomi Watts) an aspiring actress is taking care of Rita/Camilla (Laura Elena Harring) a beautiful amnesiac who wonders to Betty's door after a car-crash.
What proceeds is a neo-noir style erotic thriller of conspiracy, murder, discovery, lust and intrigue. Oh, I'm sorry that's what would happen if the David Lynch didn't hammer in this avant-garde ridiculousness.
