Review of Mulan II (2004) by Jacki C — 22 Jun 2009
The Story:
So these three really beautiful princesses have to be escorted to the neighboring kingdom with the help of three warriors who are each looking for a woman to love.
Can anyone guess what will happen?
But there's a catch!
These women are each promised to be married to a prince in the next kingdom!
Mulan: But your highness, arranged marriages?! In 15th century China?! I've never heard of such a thing! I can't possibly feel right about this because my character has the socio-political views of a 21st century American!
It's ok, Mulan. Your Eddy Murphy impersonator will tell the world that everyone should marry who they wish and not be forced to marry for any other reason.
Now everybody is happy with the loves that they chose except for the prince and emperor of Whatever-the-hell that neighboring kingdom was called. But who cares about them. They had their 2 minutes of lines.
Wait a minute...wasn't there a reason we needed their alliance? I feel that there was a point to all this that was much bigger than 4 marriages. Something about northern invaders...
Oh well. Here comes the credits.
