Review of Mulan II (2004) by Sebastian I — 02 Mar 2010

As far as Disney sequels go, this wasn't that bad. That's still not saying that much, though. The story felt lame and rushed, the songs while okay were not up to Disney's standars and in the end there wasn't much that would make this film something to remember about.

The characters were the same, though, the jokes were not half bad and it was a beautiful film, so I can't say that it was time totally wasted. It's just that the basic story was stupid. The arranged marriage thing and princesses falling for common soldiers plot was okay, even good, but the thing about Mushu trying to force Mulan and Shang apart so that he could keep his job.

.. It was pure physical pain. So yeah, for people who liked the original movie this sequel might be worth watching. For anyone else... Not so much.
