Review of Mughal-e-Azam (1960) by Amrit S — 11 Jun 2007
The most beautiful, poetic film I have ever known. Don't get me started on Naushad's soundtrack, which I am TOTALLY OBSESSED WITH. Madhubala is otherworldly-captivating. Her dance during 'Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya' is impossible to forget, and her general grace and innovativeness in this role were my obsession when I was growing up.
I wanted to be like her, or Meena Kumari in Pakeezah - or both!
