Review of Muffin Top: A Love Story (2014) by James W — 13 Nov 2014
Let's talk about a new movie that I just watched. "Muffin Top: A Love Story" which tells a story of how insecurities on how we look affect how we act in public. This doesn't apply to just women, men go through this every day as well.
I am still guilty of "sucking it in" when I take my shirt off, even though my wife is the only person that will see me. I shave my chest if I am going to be swimming in public because I have obnoxiously hairy nipples and very little chest hair.
I have put on a few pounds over the years, and my belly laps over my pants, but I still want to look good without a shirt. I look at magazines and see that guy with the six pack and chiseled tones and think, "I wish I could look like that.
" Maybe the wife would like me better like that. I was skeptical about watching this movie because I thought I wouldn't like it, but after watching it, I could relate. Even though the main story line was how women are to be things of beauty at no matter what cost, I think the same way.
