Review of Mudbound (2017) by Seve P — 24 Jan 2018
Powerful, yet unsettling, film. Took me a bit of time to get into the film because its narrative is told though several characters. The film centers on depressive themes (dreams hoped for yet never reached, alcoholism, PTSD, poverty, and the horror of racism in Mississippi during WW II year's).
Honestly, some of it was difficult to watch but in spite of the harshness of life displayed, it's excellent film making.
