Review of Mudbound (2017) by Brad N — 26 Jan 2018
Very very powerful movie that I discontinued watching after two hours as it was just too brutal and graphic in its not inaccurate, and not overdone depiction of man's inhumanity to man and humankind's fixation on race.
It is a completely believable portrayal of attitudes in the Southern part of the USA after World War II. It's probably a great movie if you have the stomach for it - I did not. I wrote this review only to warn other people who have trouble watching people being mean and physically brutal with each other.
Great acting, great plot and pacing, great drama, great photography, and I just couldn't watch it all the way through.
