Mud has phenomenal first act with a nice sense of adventure and great cinematography, solid characterization, strong acting and emotional approach, but it somehow disappoints in its flawed second and especially third act with a hopeless, somehow unnatural happy ending.
All in all, this is a very good film, but with the unfortunate lost opportunity to become a classic.
