Review of Mud (2013) by Jonathan S — 10 May 2014
Blown away by how many outstanding reviews this movie has. I did not enjoy it despite wanting to very badly. Its LONG. I cant think of any other movie that comes close to being this overly long. I didn't get a lot from it mentally either.
I didn't feel like I was left with a lot to think about, and I didn't feel like I had just had a memorable time with some characters that became real for a moment. Performances were great, cinematography was gorgeous, but it just spent too much time showing us unnecessary things that didn't build character or move the story forward.
