Review of Mud (2013) by Delwyn J — 18 Jul 2014
Grounded in reality, Mud is one of those films where all of the creative outlets from the ethereal cinematography to the haunting cinematic score come together in perfect unison to highlight the depth within the story being told.
McConaughey gives an Oscar worthy performance, but is matched strongly by Tye Sheridan who is proving to be one of the best young actors working today. The film acts as both a crisp thriller and strong psychological study that when combined with the heartfelt nature of the writing, the clarity of the visuals and the honesty of the characters, it produces one of the best films of 2013.
