Review of Mud (2013) by Ken S — 08 Jun 2016
It is at this point that I wonder, how did I let Jeff Nichols pass under my radar until now? All three of his feature films have been great, and I am all in to see where he goes as a filmmaker from here.
"Mud" is a great coming of age drama about two teenage boys who discover a boat up in a tree, and with it they meet a homeless man on the run from the law who is living there. McConaughey is great as the title character, and the two teens and other supporting castmembers are all solid.
It was fun to see Joe Don Baker again too! I wish there were more movies like this these days.
