Review of Much Ado About Nothing (2013) by Bennett W — 16 Jun 2013
I've seen a lot of really good versions of this play (Kenneth Branaugh's movie comes to mine), but my blinding loyalty to (almost) all things Joss Whedon makes me love this bouncy, black and white party version more than any other.
One of my all time favorite screen couples (Amy Acker and Alexis Denisof) shine like the loving light sources they are, and Nathan Fillion plays his doughy Dogberry better than I have ever seen it played.
Most importantly the actors and Whedon never let themselves get caught up in fanciness of the language, everyone seems to embrace that above all else this is supposed to be a giddy little smiler of a comedy, and in their more than capable hands it always is.
