Review of Much Ado About Nothing (2013) by David W — 24 Jun 2013
Adding new and exciting takes on classic characters, Whedon's adaption of this classic far exceeds expectations. While it has been compared to Branaugh's "Much Ado" on several levels, it is not an accurate comparison.
The only comparable part is the acting, and that is a battle of the ages. While several of the actors in Whedon's cast arguably were outmatched by the former cast there were a great deal who were not.
Sean Maher gave Keanu a lesson in villainy, and Fran Kranz's Claudio was the stuff of legend. In time, this adaption will go down in history as one of the greats.
