Review of Much Ado About Nothing (2013) by Matt C — 25 Jun 2013
I enjoyed the directing and stage play-esque acting as well as the classic dialogue and black and white setting. The acting is comical but subdued to sustain a nice tone and it's never too outlandish to distract from the story itself or come off as kitsch, but while still providing laughs.
My main problem is that one or two subplots are minimized so they seem more convoluted than they actually are, making it harder to actually understand them and their relevance. However, I have never read the original play or seen a stage production of it, and yet this still was enjoyable and made me happy.
8/10, very good, one thumb up, above average, etc.
