Review of Much Ado About Nothing (2013) by David C — 28 Jun 2013
3/5 --- A clever movie done from a William Shakespeare play written so long ago, but with Joss Whedon's touch - magically works in modern times. Yes it takes some time (40+ minutes) to get into the language, setting, film style (B&W which I like) and characters...
And damn there are alot of characters to remember who is whom and what's going on, but after the first hour things start to mesh and the plot gets into your head! The fast-talking verse gave me a headache, but there are some good slow-musical scenes to calm my brain! Overall nicely done...still like classic period pieces tho because the beautiful atmosphere and costumes pull the viewer into the movie. This felt very much like we're on the outside looking in.
