Review of Much Ado About Nothing (2013) by Ojas V — 03 Jul 2013
Humorous, but more slight and lighthearted than than it ought to be, this is an interesting adaptation of Shakespeare's comedy. Many people will recognize characters from earlier tv shows that joss whedon was involved with, and they do a good job capturing the language of Shakespeare, although the setting can feel a bit contrived.
It has a good energy, and the characters' musings on love and marriage are just as relevant today as they were hundreds of years ago. The stylish black and white add an intimacy that makes you feel as if you are a houseguest at this strange yuppie dinner party.
Its a fine diversion for Joss Whedon, who is probably sick of all the bombastic sci-fi, comicbook fantasy spectacle he has been entrenched in for so many years.
