Review of Much Ado About Nothing (2013) by Steve S — 03 Jul 2013
What a lovely little movie. Joss Whedon and his friends hit just the right notes in this redacted version of the Classic Shakespeare. Wonderful performances, especially by Amy Acker as Beatrice. Shakespeare's language just rolls off her tongue as if she's speaking to a friend over a glass of wine.
Whedon regulars Denisof, Kranz, Maher, Fillion, and Lenk also play their roles with aplomb. Whedon's camera finds beautiful black and white images. His skill as a composer, however, not so much. Also a shout out to newcomer Jillian Morgese as Hero.
