Review of Much Ado About Nothing (2013) by Franklin S — 26 Jul 2013
Funny, light and charming, the 2013 version of Much Ado About Nothing is as much a Joss Whedon film as it is a Shakespeare adaptation, a movie in love with dialogue and character interaction that is as exciting as any Hollywood blockbuster.
Whedon has assembled a stellar cast, mostly from his previous productions, and they all handle their roles with considerable aplomb. The leads, Alexis Denisof and Amy Acker, are particularly delightful, and the black and white cinematography is quite luscious.
More movies should dare to be this small and intimate and, most importantly, alive.
