Review of Much Ado About Nothing (2013) by Clinton R — 11 Oct 2013
First thing that came to mind when watching Joss Whedon's (The Avengers) modern adaptation of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing was: Man, Whedon has a sick crib. That because the black and white film was shot at his house, over the period of less than two weeks during the production of The Avengers back in 2012.
The modern setting crossed with the original script makes for a crazy, sometimes funny, dark comedy about the messy game that is love. Full of betrayals, plotting and scheming, this stylish and very Whedon version of Shakespeare is great for both fans of the Bard and those who may not be as familiar with the material.
