Review of Much Ado About Nothing (1993) by Kyle K — 21 Dec 2007
If you like Shakespeare then you should definitely see this. It's certainly one of the best Shakespearean movies I've seen. The acting is great, except for the cheesy suckiness of Keanu Reeves.
Also, Denzel Washington is kind of...I don't know. He's not bad but he just doesn't seem to fit. All the other characters kind of disappear into their roles, but he just kinda remains...Denzel.
It's not a big deal, but it kinda got to me. Anyway, the real scene-stealers are Kenneth Branagh (who is absolutely BRILLIANT in this role that, in the wrong hands, could've been very boring and predictable) and Michael Keaton.
I've always been a big fan of Keaton and this is a fun role to see him in (sort of a Shakespearean Beetlejuice). Overall, I really liked this movie.
