Review of Much Ado About Nothing (1993) by Daniel K — 04 Jul 2011
3: This is the kind of picture that sticks with you over the years. I can't quite imagine another cinema adaptation coming close. The cast is superb and not always obvious; the music is uplifting; the staging and editing rushes the story along when it needs it and calms things down when it calls for it; the locations are unforgettable, beautiful, and charming, just in keeping with the tone of the play; and, finally, the script is incredible, even if this is kind of a no-brainer.
I hope Branagh continues to adapt Shakespeare for the screen into his old age, but I also hope he sticks with the Thor franchise. I think I, and just about everyone else, significantly underrated it.
