Review of Mrs. Miniver (1942) by Giffy G — 22 Jul 2007
Great movie. I didn't expect WWII to break out in the middle of it, and for that I am thankful. This was a somber, thinking movie. This movie was at its best when no one was talking, and that's to the actors' credit, not to disparage them.
This is one of those rare movies whose symbolism is neither elitist braggadocio or a painfully obvious two-by-four. Real people, real emotions.
