Review of Mrs. Henderson Presents (2005) by Lizzy F — 23 May 2006
I thought this would be a sure-fire winner with me. It had everything: comedy, brillient costumes, and supposidly a great story-line. Well, it turns out, not everything. I was actually a little disappointed with the story.
It didn't satisfy, and I don't really know why. Perhaps the lack of a strong romantic story (which I thought it would contain)? Or perhaps the killing of of a character that you "feel" for? That usually doesn't bother me, and didn't really in this film, and so I can't quite pinpoint what I don't like, which leads me to conclude that they didn't go the extra mile to "capture" the audience.
Or, at least not me. I wouldn't buy it, but would probably watch it if it were on TV. I just can't promise that I'd sit all the way through it.
