Review of Mrs. 'Arris Goes to Paris (1992) by Clark P — 27 Feb 2008
'Murder, She Wrote's' Angela Lansbury has a ball in this charming flight of whimsy about achieving your dreams. She clearly relishes her role of Ada Harris, the honest to a fault Cockney charwoman with the wonky walk and a heart of gold who sets her sights on owning a Christian Dior dress.
The movie follows Mrs 'Arris to 1950's Paris where she becomes involved in much escapist fun and wins the affections of all those who happen meet her. It's perfect afternoon viewing and a special mention must be made to Diana Rigg, the standout in the supporting cast as Dior's saleswoman and Ada's ally.
