Review of Mr. Woodcock (2007) by Walter A — 05 Jun 2010
John Farley is on his way to the top due to his recent release of a successful book. When John becomes aware he was offered the "Corn Cob Key" for his hometown city, he takes the opportunity to surprise his mom and visit her for the week/weekend. Little does John know about his mom's new boyfriend, Mr. Woodcock, his grade school gym teacher from hell. Despite his many attempts to take down and rid off Mr. Woodcock, he ultimately is unsuccessful and makes his mom's life full of stress and uncertainty. Even with the help of his old schoolmate and numerous attempts to get rid of the guy, its seems as though each attempt makes Mr. Woodcock want to stay more and more each time.
This movie drove me crazy throughout the scenes with Mr. Woodcock and also John's first girlfriend. I can't name the number of times I wanted to punch this guy in the face, and, well, slap his girlfriend I guess. Although the plot is pretty cheesy and the acting isn't the greatest, I gave this movie a 40% rating.
